Strauss, dean of students at Wayne State, discusses in a letter to the editor the recent Alternative Spring Break Detroit program sponsored by the Dean of Students Office, with assistance by CULMA's Detroit Orientation Institute. Strauss notes that participating students stayed at the Fort Street Presbyterian Church during the week and attended educational sessions about Detroit while volunteering in various programs. Study abroad opportunities during the week were also offered through the study abroad program.
